Holy Moments Reflection (Third Week of Advent)

In my continued reading of Matthew Kelly’s Holy Moments, I was struck by how perfectly timed his message is during this season of Advent.  Kelly spends no small amount of pages reminding us how easy it is to succumb to hopelessness in a suffering, secular world.  But he also then shows us how to empower ourselves to give the gift of hope to others and how profoundly beautiful and rewarding it is to do so.  His “everyday examples of Holy Moments” that begin on page 42 resonated with me.  Did any of the stories of his son, John Miller, Mary Wright, Lillian Lopez, Joan Binzer, Tony Harris, and Anastasia Petrov pause you to reflect?  If so, please join the conversation here and share your thoughts!

We all need Holy Moments to battle a world that is increasingly at odds with faith.  To quote Kelly, “this is what leads to meaningful lives, enriched relationships, and a better world for everyone.”

Rejoice always!

Bob

PS – Many thanks to Julia Schweder for the idea of sharing a book this Advent and for recommending Holy Moments!
