Sacraments: Marriage

 Marriage

Marriage is a sacred relationship. It can be one of the greatest sources of strength, hope and encouragement in a person's life. The Catholic Church deeply values marriage and wants people to have successful marriages that bring happiness and joy.

When you choose to get married in the Catholic Church, you are asking for more than a ceremony, a church building and a musician. This is a momentous promise and commitment. You will make a vow before God, family, friends, and your future spouse to stay married for the rest of your life.

In an effort to help you prepare for that commitment the Catholic Church requires that you participate in a marriage preparation process to explore personal values, your commitment to your faith, and your relationship.

At the time of formal engagement, and at least six months prior to the anticipated date of the wedding, couples should contact the pastor at 715-356-6284, ext 162. Catholics seeking the celebration of marriage should be registered in the parish. The active practice of your faith is presumed.
