Beautiful Eucharist -- Revolutionizing Lives

Beautiful Eucharist: Revolutionizing Lives

If you didn’t receive your free copy of Matthew Kelly’s Beautiful Eucharist and wish to join the parish-wide reading of the book, see Kathy or Judy in the parish office. There may still be a few extra copies.

In his “Thirty Words That Revolutionized My Life” chapter of our Beautiful Eucharist book, Allen Hunt relates how his latent understanding of the Eucharist prompted him to “step aside from leading 15,000 people each week” as a Methodist pastor and join the Catholic faith.  After a life of not believing that bread and wine could be “miraculously transformed into the body and blood of Jesus”, he found himself longing more and more to receive Jesus—body, blood, soul, and divinity—in the Eucharist.  His conversion to Catholicism came about when he “could no longer deny the genius of the Catholic Church and the absolute beauty of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.”

Hunt then issues a challenge:

Let us never take for granted the extraordinary treasure of the Eucharist.  Let us never become numb to the fact that Jesus wants to give Himself fully to you and me at every Mass.  He is there, waiting to transform our lives.  That is the greatest treasure we could ever hope to have.

How would you describe to a non-Catholic the effects upon yourself when you receive Jesus in the Eucharist?

He is risen!  May the miracle of Easter bring you peace and joy.
