Beautiful Eucharist - Peace in the Midst of Chaos

Beautiful Eucharist: Peace in the Midst of Chaos

If you didn’t receive your free copy of Matthew Kelly’s Beautiful Eucharist and wish to join the parish-wide reading of the book, see Kathy or Judy in the parish office. There may still be a few extra copies.

In her “Come Away to a Quiet Place” chapter of our Beautiful Eucharist book, Jenna Greiwe shares how she came to discover peace by spending time with our Lord in Adoration.  Before that time in her life, she relates that her “faith was shallow” and her relationship with Jesus was not a priority.  She could see in others that they were “convicted” by the love that Jesus had for them, but she wondered about that and “certainly didn’t share [their] confidence at the time.”

Jenna describes her initial observation of others attending Adoration as “a sight to behold.”  She says that when she finally attended herself, she was able to “connect with Jesus on a deeper and more personal level than I ever thought possible.”  She goes on to say, “It sounds simple, but that changed everything for me.  The more time I spent with Jesus in the Eucharist, the more personal His presence became.  And the fruits that flooded my life after each visit were obvious: stillness, calm, prayer, and joy.  In the midst of chaos and problems and anxiety, there was Jesus.”  She says just spending five minutes with Jesus in a quiet chapel “brings a dose of silence and stillness that is enough to keep [her] going” in a world that is changing and becoming noisier and more chaotic than ever.

How has your relationship with Jesus changed during your life?

What would need to change in order for your relationship with Jesus to become deeper, more personal?

If you’ve spent time with the Lord in the Eucharistic Chapel or in Adoration, how has that changed you?

In the peace of Christ while in the midst of the world’s chaos,

Question 1. I've gone from "I'll call you when I need you" to "Good Morning" , what are we doing today? to Thanks for this day!" and goodnite. I hope soon in the middle of a hectic day to find a momet of silence to feel his presence. That elusive peace. (Its a work in process)
Question 2. That answer makes me think of a book. "Change is Good You Go First" Fortunatly there are those going first. I hope to follow them. Thank You
Question 3. Adoration is a far under used opportunity for growth. Try it, more than once, you'll see what I mean.
