Beautiful Eucharist - A Covenant of Love

Beautiful Eucharist -- A Covenant of Love
I hope you received your family's free copy of Matthew Kelly's book, Beautiful Eucharist, following the Christmas Masses.  If you missed out and would like to read along with the rest of the parish, see Judy or Kathy in the main office for a copy.

In our reading of Beautiful Eucharist, Jackie Francois Angel describes several events that dramatically changed her Catholic faith.  Here is how she summarized her experience: "While the first years of my life were spent in ignorance of this glorious reality [Mass and Eucharist], I know I will spend the rest of my life pondering, learning, and savoring the Mass and being in complete awe and gratitude that I get to participate in this covenant of love."  She offers this "point to ponder": "When you embrace a deep, dynamic and personal relationship with Jesus in the Eucharist, your entire life will be transformed."
  • What events in your life have changed or deepened your faith?
  • How has your appreciation for Mass and Eucharist changed during your life?
  • What changes would be needed in order for you to develop a closer personal relationship with Jesus?

Has anyone considered joining the pilgrimage for the National Eucharist Revival this spring?

I grew up as part of an active protestant Christian family. My faith is based in those roots. Conversion to the Catholic faith came from a desire for the Sacraments and traditions of the Church. The MAJOR DIFFERENCE in my prior faith and my present Catholic faith is that of the Sacrament of the Eucharist. It is Jesus and I do believe in his presence in that host at communion.

Beautiful Eucharist succinctly and clearly defines our faith. It reawakens in me the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, at mass and in my life. It encourages me to spend more time in the presences of the Blessed Sacrament in total silence with ears wide open. Thank you for sharing this book with us.
