Faith & Family Formation
The Purpose of Faith Formation
Holy Family Faith and Family Formation is our parish’s family-centered youth faith formation program—rooted in the conviction that faith grows best when it is practiced at home and supported by the parish. The Christian family is the domestic church, and parents have the mission of guiding their children to pray and to live as children of God; the parish is “a privileged place” for catechesis of children and parents.
Faith and Family Formation is built around:
- Family — Faith begins in the domestic church, where parents are the first preachers by their words and example.
- Faith — We hand on the Gospel through Catholic doctrine and a lived Christian life, so students learn what the Church teaches and how to live it.
- Formation — Catechesis is a genuine process that leads children, youth, and families into the fullness of Christian life—especially through prayer and sacramental participation.
- Foundation — The parish strengthens the home so children can receive faith formation “in proportion to their age and personal development,” supported by the example and witness of the family.
