Compassion Fund

In Matthew 25:40, Jesus tells us, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sister of mine, you did for me.”

The Holy Family Compassion Fund serves the “least, lost, and last” in our community through the distribution of funds for those who are in urgent and immediate need of assistance. Such assistance is often provided in the form of gas cards, grocery cards, utility bill payments, funds for car repairs or rent payments. Members of Holy Family’s wonderful team of dedicated and compassionate volunteers meet with clients from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Mondays in the church library.  Clients present themselves for an interview and assistance is determined on a case-by-case basis.  No funds are provided directly to the client, rather, checks are written to the utility provider, landlord or other third-party payee.

Mark Kujawa is the primary contact for the ministry and can be contacted via email at CompassionFund@HolyFamilyWoodruff.org or text/phone call at 319-573-4220.  Holy Family is privileged and grateful for this additional ministry to respond to our Lord’s call to serve those in our community who are in need.

For ongoing donations to the fund, please write “Holy Family Compassion Fund” on the check memo line.  Donations may also be made electronically by selecting “Compassions Fund” from the dropdown menu via the “Online Giving” link found on the Holy Family website.

God’s blessings to you all for your financial support, prayers and for showing the loving, compassionate heart of Jesus to all our brothers and sisters in need.
