Dear Holy Family,

Did you catch Bishop Robert Barron’s column in last week’s (March 2) Catholic Herald?  Entitled Four Ways to Grow the Church, Bishop Barron provided a handful of simple yet so important strategies that we can do as everyday evangelists to respond to our commission as Catholics to bring the Good News to others.  (In case you missed it, you can view the article online: https://www.wordonfire.org/articles/barron/4-ways-to-grow-the-church). 

Within his column, Bishop Barron expands on his four ways and I encourage you to invest the few minutes to read the full column.  Here, though, is the condensed version:

1.) Every family that comes regularly to Mass should make it their evangelical responsibility to bring another family to Mass this coming year.

2.) Pray for the expansion of the Church.

3.) Invite seekers to raise their questions. (Note: Our March 14 evening event, “A Conversation with Fr. Jerry” is intended precisely for such seekers!)   

4.) Be kind. 

As the good bishop says, “every baptized Catholic is commissioned to be an evangelizer, so we’re all in this together.”  I like to imagine how our one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church might grow and thrive if each of us embraced these four ways.
